Ads Reflection

This week was really good for preparing our final ads and making sure they look good to put out. It was nice to put them on a discussion board and see everyone else's ads. I was able to see what they did and what types of things they wrote and what techniques they used to get people to click on it. For mine I used keywords in the ad and put a call to action to hopefully get people to click on it. Then it was also nice to get feedback from people letting me know what they liked and what I could do to make it better. Then reading the articles on what we should do when making our ads and what to write was very helpful. If I hadn't read those, I probably would't have written a very good ad. They gave us many techniques to use and ways to make our ad look nicer and ways to get people to click on it.

Google Ads & Keywords Reflection

This week working with Google Ads was really helpful for me to learn more and understand more about it. I had used the service before a few years ago but didn't really do a whole lot with it. But now I feel like I can use it and get all the information it needs. Learning about keywords and which ones we should use helped identify which ones I should be using for my website. Learning about who I should target also made me realize that we need to find certain people to target to buy our product or visit our website. I shouldn't target the whole world if I don't want to be selling to everyone. And in the beginning, I don't think it is a good idea to sell to other countries because of the costs and some language barriers. That's why I chose to target the west United States. It's where I am from and I think that the people here will like it the most.

Legal Structure Reflection

This week was pretty helpful for knowing what type of legal structure that my business needs to be. When I was in high school, I learned types of business structures in my economics class and so I kind of already knew about some of the structures. In that class we also had to create a physical business and do everything that we are doing now. This was a good refresher and helped me remember everything. I think I am going to do a sole proprietorship for my business to start out. It's really simple to start and doesn't take much time. The last discussion board was really helpful, I was able to find what I needed to do and all the instructions for starting a business in Montana. It was also helpful to see what other people were saying about there states and what questions they had. I think that this week definitely put me on the right track and will make things smoother.

Site Design Reflection

This week didn't really have a big impact on me. I pretty much already have my website made and know what the checkout process is and how I get the money. But it never hurts to learn more. I didn't know that I could go into PayPal and make my own buttons. I never really thought about how you put them on your website. So it did help to learn about that, but in this case I don't really need to use them. It also helped to research design principles and know what I should put on my site and know what people like. My major is Web Development and Design and I've taken classes that have talked about how we should design things but the assignments and seeing what other people said helped a lot too.

Site Builder & Hosting Reflection

I think that this week was very helpful for finding a good host and site builder. It made me think a little more and find out more about my options. Before I kind of had an idea of what services I was going to use. But that turned out to be wrong. For my business I am going to sell clothing with my motto on them. I researched a bunch of services that would work looking at their price and what they could do. I came across one called Launch Cart. It specializes in printing and selling clothing, so that worked out really well. The website is free to use and sell on but they take 3% of your profit, which isn't bad. They even host your website for free so I won't need to pay for one. They also let you integrate Google Analytics and you can add a custom domain. So hopefully this will bring down my total cost.
