Ranking, Link Building & Google Analytics Reflection

This week we learned about ways to rank better on search engines and dig deeper in Google Analytics. My favorite part was doing the worksheet that gave us things to look for in Google Analytics and then write down the answer. It really helped me find out more about what you can do and ways to find information. With the information, you can see where you are lacking and try to fix it. Then after that we went to a website that we put our URL of our website in. Then it scanned it and looked for things that need to be fixed and can help rank our website higher.

Social Media for SEO & Social Networking Reflection

This week we learned about using social media to promote our business and help our SEO. This semester I am also taking a social media marketing class and have learned a lot about what to do and ways to use social media for businesses. So with my knowledge I was able to do the assignments pretty easily and discuss with other students what I already know. I think that using social media with your business can help you a whole lot. So many people use different platforms and you can market to whoever you are wanting to visit your website. And if your business is only online, it will make it easier for people to find you.

ROI & Optimizing Ad Performance Reflection

This week we learned about tracking our return of investments. We had to go onto Google Analytics and find out what our conversion page is. Mine is just the product page where people can buy things. But the website builder that I am using doesn't allow me to change the HTML code so I wasn't able to do it. But I did find a place that I could add JavaScript so I put it in there. Hopefully it does something. The next thing we did was activate our Google Ads campaign. This part is very exciting because we've been preparing for this all semester. I've already been getting clicks and impressions on my ad and seeing it working.

Relevance & Quality Score Reflection

This week we learned more about Google Analytics and their relevance and quality score. This score is to help people know if their keywords are doing good and if they need to make improvements. The score is on a 1-10 scale and the higher the score, the better it is doing. If the score is low, that means you need to make it better and Google won't show your ad for it as much. There are many things you can do to improve your keywords, but the three I thought were the best were choosing your keywords carefully, include your keywords in the ad text, and regularly review your ad performance. With those three things, you should be able to get your score a little higher. But there are other things you can do to help. We then talked more about Google Analytics, this is a tool that shows us our traffic and what people did on our website. We connected it to our website to start tracking and added it to our Google Ads account. I hope that this tool can help me make a better website and do bet...

Ads Reflection

This week was really good for preparing our final ads and making sure they look good to put out. It was nice to put them on a discussion board and see everyone else's ads. I was able to see what they did and what types of things they wrote and what techniques they used to get people to click on it. For mine I used keywords in the ad and put a call to action to hopefully get people to click on it. Then it was also nice to get feedback from people letting me know what they liked and what I could do to make it better. Then reading the articles on what we should do when making our ads and what to write was very helpful. If I hadn't read those, I probably would't have written a very good ad. They gave us many techniques to use and ways to make our ad look nicer and ways to get people to click on it.

Google Ads & Keywords Reflection

This week working with Google Ads was really helpful for me to learn more and understand more about it. I had used the service before a few years ago but didn't really do a whole lot with it. But now I feel like I can use it and get all the information it needs. Learning about keywords and which ones we should use helped identify which ones I should be using for my website. Learning about who I should target also made me realize that we need to find certain people to target to buy our product or visit our website. I shouldn't target the whole world if I don't want to be selling to everyone. And in the beginning, I don't think it is a good idea to sell to other countries because of the costs and some language barriers. That's why I chose to target the west United States. It's where I am from and I think that the people here will like it the most.

Legal Structure Reflection

This week was pretty helpful for knowing what type of legal structure that my business needs to be. When I was in high school, I learned types of business structures in my economics class and so I kind of already knew about some of the structures. In that class we also had to create a physical business and do everything that we are doing now. This was a good refresher and helped me remember everything. I think I am going to do a sole proprietorship for my business to start out. It's really simple to start and doesn't take much time. The last discussion board was really helpful, I was able to find what I needed to do and all the instructions for starting a business in Montana. It was also helpful to see what other people were saying about there states and what questions they had. I think that this week definitely put me on the right track and will make things smoother.
